Is the app free?
Yes — Thirukkural is completely free, with no ads and no tracking. If you'd like, you can support development with an optional donation.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The complete Thirukkural — text and audio — is bundled with the app, so you can read and listen anywhere without internet.
What languages does it support?
Three modes: Tamil (everything in Tamil), Hybrid (English interface with the Tamil kural), and English (everything in English). You can switch anytime in Settings.
Can I listen to the kurals?
Yes — tap the audio button on a kural to hear it read aloud.
How do quizzes, badges and the leaderboard work?
Take quizzes and weekly challenges to test your knowledge, build a streak, and earn badges. The optional leaderboard uses Apple Game Center.
What is the Kural Card Maker?
It turns any couplet into a beautiful shareable image in your chosen style — great for sharing on social media or with friends.
Is there an Apple Watch app?
Yes — read a kural on your wrist and add complications to your watch face.
Where are my favourites and reflections saved?
On your device (and synced privately via your iCloud if enabled). They're never sent to us.
